A man accused of repeatedly stalking and intimidating women on Sydney’s northern beaches over the last three years has been charged with 39 offences.

Detectives launched Strike Force Graffias in 2019 to investigate after several women came forward claiming to have been approached by a man while walking or exercising alone between November 2017 and September 2020.

The accused allegedly made offensive comments toward the women and, on several occasions, exposed himself and committed a lewd act.

On Thursday officers searched a home on Warringah Rd, Frenchs Forest, where they seized a small amount of drugs and clothing.

A short time later, a 42-year-old man was arrested at a work site at Birchgrove about 8am.

He was taken to Newtown police station where he was charged with 39 offences, including 34 counts of stalking/intimidating with the intent to cause fear of physical harm and five acts of carrying out a sexual act with another without consent.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Newtown Local Court court on Friday.

    Inquiries continue.
