Counter-terrorism officers have arrested a man over an online video purporting to capture the federal police chief calling for the ouster of the Morrison government.
A man connected to the video has been arrested in Western Australia. Properties were also raided in Queensland and South Australia over the weekend, the Australian Federal Police said on Monday.
The video does not feature the face of AFP Commissioner Reece Kershaw but it does carry an audio recording claiming to be him.
In the recording, the speaker is heard to demand the overthrow of the government, however the voice sounds nothing like Commissioner Kershaw’s.
The Queensland Joint Counter Terrorism Team is due to address the media at 3.30pm.
